Finding the Right Rehab
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008Finding the right drug rehablilitation center for yourself or a loved one is a very important part of recovery. Frankly, the wrong rehab will just cost one time and money. It can also turn a person off to getting any kind of help. Therefore it is vital that the correct rehab is found. That is what we at Georgia Alliance are here to help you with.
Let’s start with the first basic. Any rehablilitation center can be judged by its rate of success. This is usually a percentage number. Always ask a rehab, “What is your success rate?” Most centers will glady tell you and document it for you if needed. Watch out for centers that avoid this question or will not answer it. Once you have a number attached to the rehablilitation center’s success rate, the next thing to know is how do they caluclate that number. In other words, what is considered a “success” in their program. This is very important to watch out for. Some centers just consider a graduate a success. Some, unfortunately, consider someone a success if they simply arrive. The best rehabs not only graduate their clients but also follow up with them after graduation to ensure that they are still clean. I have found one rehab here in Georgia that follows up two years after the person finishes in order to call them a success. This is a good rehabilitation center.
I hope that this one basic is helpful. More are to come to assist you to finding the last rehab that you will ever have to find.
